2018 Brevard County Legal Aid Appellate Law Award
-March 2018-

Elizabeth Siano Harris was awarded the Brevard County Legal Aid Appellate Law Award for her pro bono representation on behalf of abused children.  Mrs. Harris represented a mother and her minor child, who was the victim of sexual abuse by her biological father, in an appeal to the Fifth District Court of Appeal.  After extensive briefing and oral argument before the appellate court, Mrs. Harris was successful in defending the permanent injunction against the father and the appellate court ruled in favor of the minor child and her mother.  The 31st Annual Pro Bono Awards Ceremony and Recognition Gala was officiated by Florida Bar President Michael J. Higer.

2017 A. Max Brewer Community Service Award Recipient
-July 2017-

Elizabeth Siano Harris was awarded the Brevard County Bar Association’s  (BCBA) 2017 A. Max Brewer Community Service Award for her community service.  The A. Max Brewer Community Service Award was established in honor of former BCBA president and legislator Max Brewer, who was described by “Florida Today” as “the most able public servant Brevard has ever known.”  In particular Mrs. Harris’s was recognized for her commitment and support of our nation’s homeless veterans.  Mrs. Harris is a board member of National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS), an organization whose mission is to eliminate homelessness among veterans in Central Florida.  Mrs. Harris is also a frequent missioner to the remote regions of the Dominican Republic, serving the poor of Las Lomas.
